Wilko's White Water Paddling Site

Welcome to my site!

Since quite a bit of my life revolves around kayaking on white water, most of what you will find here is somehow related to that addiction.

  Besides the time spent on the water, I also spend some time on the Rec.Boats.Paddle newsgroup, the Kanoforum, the Soulboater forum as well as on Eric Princen's Boatertalk paddler's forum. I have made several friends through those media, and I sometimes write trip reports. I guess that so far I've written about 60 or 70 of them. Up until now, these trip reports weren't gathered anywhere. That's actually what led me to create this site in the first place.

Over the years I've also shot and collected paddling pictures, both of myself and of some of my friends. There are about 50 galleries with well over 1000 paddling pictures on this site, with more being added regularly.

It's funny to see over time which parts of my site get the most visits... Much to my surprise those are the page about trolls, the page with pictures of my girlfriend (hey, she's not showing any nudity! ;-)), the page with my gear tips and the one about which boats I paddled (which includes some "ancient" models of white water kayak :-)).

My native language is Dutch, but since so many of the boaters that I know don't understand a word of Dutch, I've selected English for my website instead. There are a bunch of Dutch language trip reports on this site, though. Enjoy my website, and don't hesitate to let me know what you think of it.

Looks like I can finally put up whatever I like without having to worry about site size or bandwidth limitations. :-)
